your child's preschool years are coming to an end, your thoughts are
probably turning toward kindergarten. Is your child ready to move on to the
"big" school? What skills do kindergarten teachers expect their new students
to have? Out East Therapy offers a variety of quality programs available to
babies, children ages 3-5 and even middle schoolers that will encourage
development and foster self-esteem. Each group is led by a
licensed/certified professional and runs for 5 or 6 weeks depending on the
program.

Jumpstart to Kindergarten II:
Developing Hand Skills and Introducing Letter Formation
Mondays and Wednesdays,
1:30-2:00pm (6 week session)
Session begins July 2nd, 2019
Class Fee: $210 for entire session
A six-week session created and run by an Occupational Therapist to prepare your child for handwriting in Kindergarten. Classes will focus on motor skill coordination and development for improved dexterity and manipulation. Each session will incorporate the widely used Handwriting Without Tears and Wilson Fundations programs to teach letter formation and spatial relations, the same way they are taught in Kindergarten. Proper pencil grip and scissor skills will be reinforced through crafts, manipulatives and multi-sensory activities. Energetic sensory motor and tactile activities will prepare their little bodies to attend to small group instruction while building social skills. Your child will leave with a proud portfolio of their best work!

SMART (Sensory Motor And Readiness Training) Babies
Mondays and Wednesdays,
9:30-10:00am (6 week session)
Session begins July 2nd, 2019
Class Fee: $210 for entire session
For 6-9 month old babies-not yet crawling or rolling. 30 minutes focuses on infant massage, vestibular activities, pre-crawling activities, tummy time. Parents will leave understanding why it is so important to crawl before walking, what each of the sensory systems are and how we can facilitate them, age appropriate toys and activities, and how massage calms the entire sensory system.

We offer a parent & child group that is conducted by a certified special education teacher. Each 45 minute session will work towards building self-esteem, socialization, language, fine and gross motor skills, play skills and ability to follow directions.
